For Your Web Site

How to Use Your .BANK Domain Name

InetSolution's hosting network has all of the necessary special DNS provisions (called DNSSEC) required to provide hosting for banks who have registered a .bank domain name.

Beginning in 2015, banks can register domain names ending in the .bank domain suffix. In many ways, domains ending in the .bank (pronounced dot bank) suffix work just like the more popular .com domain names; however, .bank domain names require special DNS services that are different from other domain suffixes.

Two Options for Using Your .BANK Domain

1. Go live with your .BANK domain

For banks who wish to make immediate use of their .bank domain name, InetSolution can assist with setting up hosting of the bank's website within our secure SSAE16 audited data centers. The process requires some preliminary steps and planning, which InetSolution will fully manage to ensure a zero downtime testing and cutover period. We support .bank domain names in all hosting configurations, including shared, dedicated server, and high-availability web server farms.

2. Register & Forward

Many banks have taken the preliminary steps to procure and register their .bank domain name, but are not yet ready to invest in the rebranding and hosting upgrades needed to make use of the new domain. By registering a .bank domain name, a bank is able to prevent another entity from registering the domain name while the bank evaluates how or if it will make use of the domain name. Most banks are currently waiting to see whether the .bank domain suffix can gain traction with consumers and become as recognizable as the .com suffix. In the interim, banks are choosing to forward the .bank domains to their primary domain.
